ArtRoot welcomes submissions for new, emerging, casual, and professional poets to be considered for a future Wall Poems of Racine mural. Writers must submit five excerpts from their works and should think about selections that could evoke visual representations in graphics and design to be created by UW-Parkside students.

The poetry selection committee will review all submissions blindly, without names associated with the work. The committee will pass along their top choices to UW-Parkside. Building owners, ArtRoot members, faculty at UW-Parkside, and the sign painters will go through the final review process to determine which mural will come to life. Even if your excerpts are not selected for this spring’s selection, you can resubmit for future consideration.

You may submit for a deceased author, but you must own the rights to publish the works of the deceased author. All authors (or their representatives) selected for the program will be required to sign a simple contract granting ArtRoot the right to use the poetry excerpt in a mural and for program promotional purposes.
